How it works
Planning a wedding can feel overwhelming, but ordering your wedding stationery doesn’t have to be — and I’m here to make sure it isn’t.
From the moment you get in touch, I’ll guide you through each stage of the process. A great place to start is by browsing my pre-designed collections to get a feel for my style and see what speaks to you.
If a particular design catches your eye, wonderful — we can begin customising it to suit your colours, details and overall wedding aesthetic. But if you’re dreaming of something completely unique, created just for the two of you, then my bespoke design service is the perfect choice.
The process
1. Browse the collections
Start by exploring the collections to get a sense of the overall styles and aesthetics that resonate with your day. Focus on the design feel rather than the finer details — colours and wording can all be customised to suit your wedding perfectly, so try not to get hung up on those.
As you browse, also consider the format that suits your needs best. Would you prefer a gatefold invitation, where all of your wedding details are contained in one piece, or a single invitation with inserts, ideal for layering extra details?
2. Introduce Yourself
Once you’ve found a design (or a few!) that you love, it’s time to say hello by emailing me at hello@pollypickledesign.com.
Please include the items you’re drawn to, along with all the key details about your wedding — this helps me understand your day and start building a vision for your stationery. Remember to include quantities required, based on per household and not per guest — a common mistake!
3. The Nitty-Gritty Details
Once I have all the information about what you’re looking for, I’ll prepare a fully itemised quote for you. If you’d like stationery for your whole wedding journey — from save the dates and invitations to all your on-the-day pieces — I can include everything in one clear, easy-to-understand quote.
If you’re happy to go ahead, I take a 50% deposit, payable by bank transfer or PayPal. As soon as the payment reaches me safely, your booking is confirmed and your design work is officially scheduled in. Hurrah!
4. The Design Process
To get everything started, I’ll send you the Polly Pickle Checklist & Guide — a simple, helpful document that walks you through preparing all the wording and details I need.
If you’re unsure about any of the text, don’t worry. I’m more than happy to use my experience to help shape your wording, whether you want lots of guidance or just a little. We’ll also chat through timescales, which can vary depending on my current schedule, so you always know exactly what to expect.
Once I have everything I need, I’ll begin designing and will email you your digital PDF proofs to review. You’ll have the chance to check everything carefully, request any tweaks, and approve the final designs before we move on to printing.
5. Production
Once you’re completely happy with your design proofs, I’ll finalise the artwork and prepare everything for professional external printing. Standard printing typically takes around 5 business days, while speciality finishes — such as gold foil— can take up to 2 weeks depending on the complexity.
When your stationery is in production, I’ll send over the final invoice for the remaining 50%. This balance will need to be settled before your paper goods are dispatched.
6. Delivery
Once your stationery is printed, I’ll carefully check every item in my studio to ensure everything is perfect, then prepare it for posting or collection — whichever you prefer. Collection can be easily arranged from my studio if that’s more convenient.
You’ll receive an email as soon as your stationery leaves the studio. From there, it’s usually just 1–2 business days before your beautiful paper goods are in your hands, ready to impress your guests and make your wedding day even more special.
Need help along the way?
Should anything be unclear, or if you’d like input on wording or design options, I’m happy to help. The goal is to make the stationery process as straightforward, enjoyable and as stress-free as possible, so your focus can stay on the bigger picture: your wedding day.
